Welcome to my blog!
I started this project in 2009 without much of a concept or goal, unsure of where it would lead me. This is how I start most projects when I get excited. I do not often finish them, so bear with me. In 2010 at the onset of my mid 20’s and my new enemy, cellulite, it became apparent to me that it was time to start taking care of my body. I’m young and my parents have graced me with some wonderful genes, but eventually downing regular meals of pizza and fast food while leading a sedentary lifestyle (getting up only to pour another glass of wine) will take its toll on anyone.
With that, I bought a gym membership and subscriptions to a few fitness magazines and set out to make a lifestyle change. Knowing that I’m not the only one to go through this, I decided to share my experiences, exercises, and recipes. This has not been easy at all and I’ve fallen off the wagon more times than I can count. But the important part about falling down is getting back up, brushing off, and continuing the journey. Oh, and laughing! If you can’t laugh at yourself, you’re doing it wrong.
This being said, I am not trained in culinary skill and my kitchen looks like a war zone every time I craft a meal. Trust me though, the end result is always a pretty plate. And if it’s not pretty, I’ll just run it through a few Instagram filters before posting the shot on here. Secondly, I am not a personal trainer, though it is on my bucket list…one day…when I can get through 20 consecutive workouts without whining or asking for a priest to read my last rites before what I am sure is a very near death. I’m great at cheering people on, but have a sincere fear that I’ll be the first person to drown in my own sweat.
